CPD and Events

Continuing Professional Development

There is a duty for all members to undertake CPD, especially at a time when they are returning from a period of absence from practice, for whatever reason. The underlying ethos is to support autonomy, reflection and professional development.

The requirement is that accredited members normally conduct a minimum of 250 hours of CPD over any five-year period and a minimum of 20 hours in any one year.

Members should be able to show that their practice and CPD reflects the Diversity and Equality Policy of UKCP. This will include such things as demonstrating an understanding of power, prejudice and the impact of oppression, and the needs of the diverse group of clients with whom they work.

Neuro-Linguistic Psychotherapists share a philosophy of psychotherapy in common with other members of UKCP and especially our own college – the Constructivist and Existential College (CEC). There are a wide number of training and networking events available from NLPtCA members, members of the Constructivist and Existential College, members of UKCP and University and private training providers that can help you meet the CPD requirements.
